Course Description
Given the fact most of our modern day health problems represent poor decisions rather than medical failures, the primary goal of this course is to provide students with the necessary skills and knowledge that they can intelligently use to ultimately live a lifetime of appreciating and attaining wellness. The content in this course deals with knowledge – concepts, facts, generalizations and understanding; attitudes – values, appreciations;
skills – communication advocacy, decision-making, planning and goal setting and self-management. The course is divided into seven units of study (depending on how much we get through in the semester).

Unit One – Health Skills (What is Health? & Types of Health)

Unit Two – Mental/Emotional & Family/Social Health

communication and prevention)
