Teams in our program:
Marksmanship: Marksmanship
is an extracurricular activity that is enjoyable and competitive. We practice
firing air rifles and are judged in competitions among other JROTC marksmanship
teams.
Raiders: Raiders
is a group activity that involves physical activities such as push-ups and the
two-mile run. We also compete against other JROTC teams from all over
Color Guard: Color
Guard is a fun activity in which we present the colors at basketball games.
This activity allows us to show support for both our country and our school
team. There are Color Guard competitions through the year.

JROTC

JROTC prepares high school students for leadership roles while making them aware of their rights, responsibilities, and privileges as American citizens. It is a stimulus for promoting graduation from high school and it provides instruction and rewarding opportunities that will benefit the student, community, and nation.
First Sergeant Jon Ramey- 1SG (R)
Jon Ramey is married to the former Joan Bartholomew for over 42 years. They
have 5 children, all grown up and 5 grandchildren. A graduate of Whitehall High
School in Whitehall, NY in 1962, the 1SG joined the US Navy where he served as
a Radioman from 1962-1966, finishing off his enlistment with a seven-month tour
in the Combat Zone off of Vietnam. Following his service in the Navy, the 1SG
worked at IBM for 3 years, joined the Vermont State Police in 1971, where he
worked for and received his Associates Degree in Criminal Justice, and in 1977
moved on to the Vermont Department of Corrections where he worked for 9 years
as a Corrections Officer, a work crew supervisor, a Lieutenant, a shift
supervisor and a caseworker. On the military side, after a long break from the
Navy, Top joined the VT Army National Guard as a Specialist in 1983, becoming a
full-timer in 1986 and an AGR Staff Sergeant in 1990. While working full time
for the VT Army National Guard in Enosburg, Swanton and Morrisville, he served
as a Unit Administrator, a Training/Readiness NCO, a Master Gunner, on the
M1/M1A1 Abrams Tanks and a First Sergeant. His awards include among many others
the Vietnam Service Ribbon, and a U.S Army Meritorious Service Medal. 1SG Ramey retired as a First Sergeant
from Active Guard and Reserve (AGR) service at age 60 on Nov 1st,
2004. Nine months after retiring he began serving as the Army Instructor for US
JROTC here at
