HARASSMENT & BULLYING
Student Guide
If you feel you are being harassed or bullied, this is what you need to DO.
¯
DO NOT IGNORE
IT! Everyone has a right to feel
accepted and safe in school.
¯
TELL THE
PERSON TO STOP. Be polite and
clear about how you feel.
If the person does not stop, or you are
afraid to say something to this person, TELL A TRUSTED ADULT or PEP MEMBER.
¯
A friend can
go with you for support.
¯
This is what
the adult or PEP member can do for you:
Listen
to you.
Help you decide what to do next.
Support you in your decision.
Help you talk to your School Counselor or Principal.
YOU WILL BE ASKED:
¯
What
happened?
¯
How did that
make you feel?
¯
What do you
want to happen next?
Sometimes problems can be resolved
through informal discussion or mediation.
IF THE PROBLEM IS NOT RESOLVED OR IF IT CONTINUES, THEN YOU CAN FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT.
¯
Fill out an Incident Complaint form in the Guidance Office.
¯
Bring a copy
of the complaint form to Mr. Starr or Dr. Grossman.
¯
A complete
investigation of the situation will be conducted by an administrator.
¯
Parents will
be notified.
¯
The
Administrator will determine any disciplinary action.
If the harassment or bullying continues please see a School Counselor for additional help.
