Dear Parents and Students:

The 2010-2011 school year is going to be yet another exciting year full of continued growth for all members of our middle school community. Last year our school launched into several new endeavors with the goal of enhancing student engagement, learning, and personal growth. From the 1-to-1 computing initiative to the development of our teacher advisory program, students, parents, and teachers worked together for a successful school year. As a school community we look forward to building upon last year’s successes as we deepen and enrich our student’s educational experiences here in the middle school. Working together we can continue our school wide focus on continuous improvement, setting high expectations for all students, and the continued growth of a positive and supportive middle school community.

Parents: Remember that your involvement in your child’s education is absolutely critical. You are your child’s first and most important teacher and role model. You can show your child your belief in the importance of education by making sure your child is in school ready to learn each day, making sure your child has a specific homework routine, and keeping the lines of communication open with your child’s teachers.

Students: Remember that you are responsible for your actions and your learning. The adults in your life are here to help, guide, and support you during these critical middle school years, but ultimately you control your destiny. Be positive, open to new ideas, respectful of others, and willing to learn, and you are sure to have an outstanding school year.
